The Difficulty Level Assessment #1 is designed to assess the skill level of a player. DLAs are great to use for tryouts and other evaluations for chair positions, instrument placement, etc. This is a "summary" of skills needed throughout all difficulty levels and is distributed throughout a single page of music. Although it does not include all of the skills necessary to consider oneself at a specific level, it does provide a clear picture of a player's overall general capabilities.
