Category 5 is the cadence that pushes everything to the next level. This cadence is full of beefy rudiment and rhythm sections, but still maintains lengthy groovey parts without getting too technical. This cadence is great for the advanced high school line. The mounted cymbal part is optional, but we highly recommend it.

INK is a great cadence for those trying to transition from Level 2 cadences to Level 3 cadences. It's difficulty level is just enough to consider it a Level 3 cadence but doesn't push the player too hard. It has some tough sections in it, but those sections are followed by easier sections allowing you to play a relatively simple cadence that also has a few beefy parts.

Charger is a unique cadence that is heavily based around sixtuplets. This is considered to be a very difficult Leve 3 cadence and could just as easily be considered an "easier" Leve 4 cadence. This one has some serious muscle!

Have Blue is a cadence that is developed on a more groovy/loopy pattern and is similar to "jam" style cadences played by many major universities. This cadence is not easy, but keeps a very stable beat and is incredibly easy to march to.

YOYOYO is considered to be a dark cadence. This cadence is slightly more fast paced than standard cadences and offers a wide variety of groove sections that have a very mysterious sound. This is an excellent cadence if you are wanting to play something that isn't considered traditional.

Vanishing Point is a cadnece that has a nice pace to it and "realistically" falls in between level 2 and 3 difficulty levels. It flows well and has some very fun sections in it without being too repetitive. While not being long, Vanishing Point is a nice cadence than can quickly be added to your drumline's playlist for the year. For a medium/advanced drumline this one can be learned in no time.

Smokestack is a great cadence to play when marching to or from the stadium. There are sections that indicate "custom vocal chants". These sections are to be vocalized by the entire drumline (or band). This one gets everyone involved.

Face the Bass is a bass drum cadence designed specifically for getting on and/or off of the field or performance area. Bass drum cadences are powerful and do not spoil the sound of the entire drumline prior to the performance. Although this cadence has a 12/8 feel to it, it is written in 4/4 using tuplets.

FreeDrumline Music. is the number one place to find free marching percussion / drumline sheet music and recordings. We support vic-firth drum sticks, remo and evans marching drum heads as well as Yamaha marching percussion drums and drum sets. However, FreeDrumlineMusic.com is a fan of anything percussion related. Pearl drums, Dynasty drums, Tama drums, Mapex drums, and Ludwig drums are all percussion companies that we greatly support as well. Choosing the right drum stick is very important. As a musician it is your call when you feel to make the appropriate decision when it comes to stick selection. This is why we recommend both Pro-Mark and Vic-Firth drum sticks. Drum stick selection varies when it comes to choosing a pair for drum set or marching percussion instruments such as snare drum, tenors, or bass drums. Cymbal selection for marching percussion drumlines is also a very important factor to consider. We recommend Sabian crash cymbals in a variety of diameters as well as Zildjian crash cymbals. Both Sabian and Zildjian have a great selection of ride cymbals, hi-hats, splash cymbals, and various other effects cymbals to choose from. Drum head selection is important as well. Depending on what type of drum you are working with, whether it be marching snare drum batter or snare side heads or marching tenor drum heads, the correct seletion is essential. Evans drum heads and Remo drum heads are great to use for marching percussion equipment. The key to being a good musician is practice. Having a metronome is very important. Drumlines are one of the most important aspects of a marching band. Having a marching band without a drumline leaves it incomplete. Vic Firth Pro-Mark Pro Mark Yamaha Dynasty Ludwig Pearl Mapex Tama Remo Evans Drum Heads Zildjian Sabian Crash Cymbals Splash Cymbals Ride Cymbals Percussion Percussionist Drum Set Drumset Drummer Drums Sibelius Sibelius software by AVID is extremely important when it comes to writing your own music. Writing your own music can help you become a better musician. |
